Frequently Asked Questions about Boudoir… With an Awkward Twist

I know that boudoir photography might be foreign territory for some people. So I’m here to answer all of the awkward questions I’ve gotten during my time as a professional boudoir photographer! Even though frequently asked questions pages are anonymous, sometimes it might be hard to reach out to even ask other questions that might be holding you back from doing a session. So buckle up!

Frequently Asked Questions about Boudoir

Will I be getting naked?

I fully believe that femininity needs to be celebrated! And the naked body can be photographed in an artistic and tasteful way. But if you’re looking to showcase all of your bits and pieces, we don’t do that at our studio.

Do I have to change in front of other people?

Absolutely not! Although this is an experience where you get to strip down in front of strangers and a camera, as we said in the previous answer, you will not be showcasing all of your bits and pieces. We provide a private restroom and dressing room for when you want to change outfits.

What am I supposed to do…you know…down there…grooming wise?

It’s totally up to you! I will say that most outfits and poses will show if you’ve been growing your hair out since the lockdown. And if that is your thing, then all power to you! However, if not, we recommend that you either shave the morning of your session or wax a few days before if you want that clean look. But again, totally up to you!

Is boudoir only for women?

Boudoir is definitely very female-dominated, so this is a good question! Men are typically involved in boudoir sessions during a couple’s photoshoot as a way to celebrate their love and sensuality. However, as a studio that is for women, by women, we focus on only women and do not offer couple’s photoshoots.

I’m nervous as anything for my shoot, I mean I’m stripping down in front of strangers! Am I allowed to drink a little bit of alcohol before my session?

This is another question where the answer is totally up to you! Our staff is friendly and professional, and we promise to make you feel at home. You’ll feel safe in our judgment-free studio. However, if you need a little bit more of a lubricant, we offer complimentary champagne to start your session off. But I promise you as soon as you step into the studio you will be laughing at the fact that you were ever nervous in the first place!
