Many of my boudoir clients have so much fun being photographed that they have to spread the news to their friends and family. Unfortunately, many of those who learn about boudoir photography feel they are too old to participate. Not only is this not true, but it goes against the whole idea of boudoir photography! Sure, age ain’t nothing but a number. But here are 5 more-convincing reasons that you’re never too old for a boudoir session.

Reason #1 YOLO!

You. Only. Live. Once. Are you going to let a little ol’ thing like age prevent you from living life to the fullest? It makes me sad when I hear people letting age limit their dreams and fantasies. You aren’t going to get any younger, so do as much as you can now. No regrets!

Reason #2 You’re Like a Fine Wine 

A woman’s life is filled with the beauty of transformation, but we are not flowers doomed to wilt. We are more like fine wine, getting better as we age. Boudoir photography highlights the amazing parts of aging that we forget. The warmth of the eyes. The lines formed by thousands of smiles and tears. The body that carried the heart and the mind to its current place. The intimacy of age goes very deep, and boudoir photography captures it all.

Reason #3 Experience is Sexy

There are two sides to every coin, but its value does not change. It is the same thing with boudoir photography. There are sexy aspects of youth, and there are sexy aspects of maturity. A mature woman knows what she wants, and she generally knows how to get it. This experience and confidence shows up as beauty and poise on the set. 

Reason #4 Get Your Sexy Back

One very compelling reason to have a boudoir photography shoot at an older age is to get your sexy back! If you’ve been limiting yourself from doing things due to age, then you’re probably ready for some spice in your life. It isn’t bad to calm down and settle into the habits and comforts of life, but that doesn’t mean you’re dead from the waist down! Remind yourself that you’ve still got it, and you’ll spark your sexual side. I love to see people leave my studio with an extra spring in their step because I know they’ve got their sexy back. 

Reason #5 Prove Yourself Wrong

If you think you are too old for boudoir photography, then you MUST prove yourself wrong. Otherwise, you’ll continue to limit your life due to some preconceived idea that is completely incorrect. By proving yourself wrong, you’ll open the doorway to other opportunities by opening your mind to the possibilities. Age sometimes comes with factors that limit your ability to do certain things. You aren’t likely to become an Olympic athlete or play professional sports past a certain point. But boudoir photography will never have an age limit, and that holds true for MANY other activities.  

You Can’t Be Too Old for Boudoir Photography

I honestly wish I could teleport and interrupt the conversations you’re having with your friends or family members if you think you’re too old for boudoir photography. I’d tell you all the reasons you are beautiful and that you should celebrate your bodies at every age. We are all aging on this planet together, and it is a better world when we don’t let age limit our potential for happiness.
