Ya’ll, words don’t even begin to express how excited I am to be photographing the lovely Kaleigh (a recent graduate of Liberty High here in Dallas) a second time, this time in DENVER!!! It may still be over a month out, but I’m super type A & already planning her snowy high school senior photos…finding inspiration photos, scouting locations (thank you, Google & Instagram for making location scouting from far away a breeze!), and helping her figure out exactly what to wear!
Most portrait photographers don’t put together mood boards, but it’s something I decided to carry over from my fashion photography days because it really helps everyone plan for the session vs. just wing it. I typically create mood boards after my clients & I chat over Skype about what their dream shoot looks like, then, I do all the wardrobe styling myself. Mostly with items my clients already own, sometimes with items I get from contacts I’ve made in the fashion industry, and other times my clients go shopping & text photos from the dressing room. Even though I’m now just doing portrait sessions and no longer do fashion shoots, because of that background I really feel like clothes are uber important – they can make or break a shoot! 🙂
Anyway, check out Kaleigh’s mood board for her shoot with photos by other photographers that I found on Pinterest below…where should I go next?!!
