A couple days ago, I wrote about how I decided it was my turn to do a boudoir shoot, even though I’m single. Besides all the personal empowerment reasons to do one, I’ve grown so envious of all my clients getting to rock their bodies in a boudoir shoot. So sometime in the spring, I’ll get to experience what it’s like to be one of you! he he I am SO very excited to see a new studio, get my hair & makeup done, and strut my stuff in some awesome new outfits. 🙂 While I normally advise my clients to bring a wide variety of colors so that their albums will have variety, my album is going to be different. As I mentioned in the above post, it’s going to contain annual shoots until when/if I get married. So I decided I wanted each shoot to have a theme that tells a story…this first shoot is sort of symbolic of what has to die inside for something new to be birthed…it’s also symbolic that as a black woman, I am dark, yet lovely (Song of Solomon 1:5). And finally, I just freakin’ love the edginess of all these looks which will be great while my hair is short because I definitely plan on growing it back out. 🙂
Above photos were NOT taken by me but found on Pinterest
After spending a few hours to search for ideas on Pinterest & pinning them all to a board, I realized that there was a common thread between them all, and really just 4 outfits contained in all the above pics:
I then set out to find items for my outfits based on the photos, and I found everything I need for this shoot PLUS an extra, 5th look for less than $150. Besides skipping Victoria’s Secret, the way to get this many different looks is by pairing the same bottoms with different tops:
Outfits:
Total Cost: $143.50
Next, I decided on this dramatic smokey eye with a light pink lip & sexy windswept hair for me, and wa-la, my look for my upcoming boudoir shoot is complete:
I would LOVE to do all this planning & help you find affordable looks to wear for your shoot – contact me soon if you’d like to book a boudoir shoot!! 🙂
